Connecting Threads Charm Pack Challenge

Hello everyone!!!  I am so excited to share my newest challenge with you. It is called the Connecting Threads Charm Pack Challenge. How it all began:
I was looking through my Connecting Threads catalog a few months ago and I began to wonder how many projects could I make using all the charm packs in the catalog? I counted all the packs and calculated the cost, which was under $50.00. I realized that for orders over $50.00 the shipping was free so I thought I could just order a few more charm packs to get the free shipping! Clever, right?
Then I wondered if anyone else would be interested in doing my challenge with me. Of course, if I was not going to be doing it alone I would need to develop some guidelines. But let me first go back a step.
I knew if I wanted to call it the Connecting Threads Charm Pack Challenge I would need permission to use their name. So I emailed Customer Service and was thrilled when I received a reply stating that their marketing person would be contacting me!!! Whoopee! A day or so later, Haley sent me an email and said not only did I have their permission to use their name but they would also sponsor a give a way on my blog!!!!  Isn't that awesome????
So here I am, starting the official blog for the Connecting Threads Charm Pack Challenge. This challenge is open to anyone who would like to participate.
Here are the guidelines:
You must order all of the charm packs from the October 2016 Connecting Threads catalog, which is available now. You may order more than one of each, but you must order at least one.
The main fabrics in all projects must be from the charm packs. You may supplement from your stash or from yardage purchased from Connecting Threads.
We have one year to use all of the charms in the packs. The official start date is Nov 3rd, 2016.
We will observe copyright laws so no patterns may be copied or shared.
I have a group of local ladies who have already signed up for the challenge. I believe at this point we have all received our charm packs and let me tell you, they are awesome!!!
     Some project ideas:
You could just make one huge quilt with all the charms, or you could make several projects. It is up to you what you make. Connecting Threads has a lot of free patterns on their website. While these are not especially geared for charms, they can be modified or simply provide inspiration.
Of course, there have been several books published with projects using the charm size blocks.
One of the purposes of this blog is to share information regarding where you can find suitable patterns. I would also like it to be a place where we can provide inspiration, tips, and tricks! Also, I would like to post pictures of our projects as we finish them because we all love show n tell, right??  :)
Okay ladies! I have put the challenge out there. Are you willing to accept this challenge? You will be needing cool gifts for your family and friends in the next 12 months. Why not join the challenge and get your gift sewing groove on!!!!
So order your Charm Packs, put in a new needle, clean out your bobbin area, and get ready to sew!!!!
The Challenge is on!!!!!
